MARGARET ROSE SCRIBNER
Author/Artist/Entrepreneur
I owned Studio 308 in DeLand, Florida for eleven years where I taught art to eighty-plus enthusiastic students weekly. My art reflects my preference for working with pen and ink, applied in minute detail, and colored pencil, with the many intriguing effects it can achieve. Primarily a self-taught artist, my work has earned numerous awards, including several “bests of show,” both in Florida and in my native New Hampshire. A published author, with a self-published book, A Sitting Ovation, many of my writings have been featured in various magazines. Since then, I have written and self-published my first illustrated children’s book, the delightful tale of Hannah’s Incredible Cow. I have completed work on a second illustrated children’s book based on a fantasy tale originally conceived by my three grandsons. It is titled The Incredible Adventures of the Spaceship ANYWHERE and is now available on Amazon.
I am a New Englander by birth but transplanted to Florida over fifteen years ago. Prior to this incarnation, I served twenty-five years in the elder care industry, culminating professionally as Administrator in an assisted care facility, while also serving on the Board of Directors of another. Intertwined throughout, I dabbled in a host of entrepreneurial ventures; among them, a children’s specialty shop, an ice cream smorgasbord parlor, and several gift shops (one of which was an original tenant in the first mall built in New Hampshire).
